OGC works in all Quake3 gametypes and modifications by hooking the engine in memory.
The cheat includes the following functions:
The hack has coused such contraversy withing the Quake3 community that ID software has responded to the problem and will be releasing a new Q3 patch to address the situation, and is including PunkBuster by EvenBalance which will be integrated within the engine for full protection against further cheats. With Punkbuster included ID Software will no longer be required to release patches to eliminate cheats as PunkBuster will be automaticaly updated if there is a new or modified cheat being in use. These updates are downloaded to the players computer everytime he or she joins a server with PunkBuster enabled.
Note: All known new cheats and cheat websites should be sent to research@evenbalance.com so that PunkBuster can get updated.

First, forget anything you ever saw with Punkbuster and Counter-Strike. The game is now heavily integrated with the game binary now, and Even Balance gets a lot of direct support from id. PB now causes no lag that I'm able to detect, and works very smoothly. Just enable it, and the system does all the rest, including updating your local files.
For server admins, this stuff is a godsend. It gives you tremendous control over the way people play on your servers, and you have a huge number of flexible ways to prevent cheating. Once PB is set up, you can pretty much kiss aimbotters, wallhackers, and people with binds that exploit bugs good-bye (and good riddance). Once you get it configured, you can forget it - no updating, no changes necessary. It works. PB also includes a really cool web tool to help configure your server on the fly. Good stuff.
For the mod team's, they can forget about trying to code against bots and hacks, and if an exploitable bug is found, they can simply publish the cvar check to beat it - and it goes away as a problem until you fix the bug in the next release. It also allows admins to limit any CVAR to a single value or a range - so mod coders no longer need concern themselves with trying to limit these things (and in fact such checks might cause conflicts with PB) - server admins can limit them as much as they want, with ease. It lets the coders focus on the game again, and stop worrying about cheats.
For cheat coders, it means you're screwed. No sooner will you publish a cheat, than punkbuster will automagically update all the servers to make your cheat not work, and tattle on anyone who tries to use it. What Even Balance discovered, is that lots and lots of people will send them bots the minute they show up. So a bot coder might work for months on his cheat, only to see PB wipe out his work in a few hours after he gives it to a friend.
PB can check and block people who use those crappy drivers that allow seeing through walls and so forth. Goodbye @!#?$&%*. PB can scan memory to look for the tell-tale shims cheat coders use to beat the q3 executable. It can scan for a lot of stuff. It'll be a @!#?$ to bypass. And server admins can set up up to take screen shots of your screen - and we can see what you are playing with. And PB logs people caught cheating, so you can expose them to the world, if that's your desire.. It doesn't miss very often these days.

Wallhack
An OpenGL wall hack has been created for Quake III & Mods. It is a full Transparency Hack, which all walls are transparent. It is hard to install however, and it is hard to use without falling to your death or running into walls. Most cheaters when using this hack are very obvious.
Aimbot
The famous creators of hacks for Half-Life have created an aimbot for Quake III. This aimbot is advanced, and even takes into account gravity for when rockets are launched. This hack is very deadly, the aim is near perfect, and will make a cheater very potent. Server Administrators will have to keep their eyes out for people using these.OGC
The already famous Half-life OGC cheat has in recent months been ported over to Quake3 and is spreading like a deadly virus. New improved versions of this cheat are being released almost on a weekly basis.OGC works in all Quake3 gametypes and modifications by hooking the engine in memory.
The cheat includes the following functions:
* Auto Aim
* Auto Fire
* IgnoreWalls on/off (stops or enables auto aim through walls)
* Wall hack ( walls arent transparent, only player models can be seen through walls)\
* Glow (makes player models glow, representing the teams accordingly for eg. Red/Blue)
* Text info (Gives information about the oponents weapons, health, armour etc)
* Anti FX (Removes smoke, flash and other FX depending on mod)
* Bunny (Perfectly times bunny hopping for max speed gain)

CVAR Hack
The CVAR hack unlocks certain Quake3 development commands in memory that are by default not accesible to the player. By using some CVARS the player can do the following:* Disable curves ( this can have huge impact on maps built mostly out of curves)
* Enable ShowNormals (a primitive wallhack, player models become spiked and can be seen through walls)
* Disable textures.

Punkbuster, Quake3's hope
With the upcoming Punkbuster for Quake 3, there has been many assumptions that it will fail like it's Counter-Strike counter part, well Tapper President of the OGL and director of operations at Quakecon has pointed out why thats not so with Quake 3 based on his experiance with RtCW.
