Warcraft 3 is currently the top selling game out on the market. This exposes it to thousands of players and potential hackers. Just like the Beta versions released to the public, Warcraft 3 is still vulnerable to a slew of cheats and hacks.

Map Hack

Popular due to Warcraft 2's Battle.Net, map hacks have been released in almost all versions of Warcraft 3 (even under the Beta). The map hack allows online players to disable "fog of war" (the line of sight for each unit) so that the whole map is revealed including the enemy's units and buildings. This allows the hackers to rush early without searching for the enemy, or monitor the enemy and strategically position their units.

Resource Viewer

This cheat hacks one of the tool tips in the game to display a menu of resource information such as gold, wood, and units to the cheater. However, this hack is difficult to use because there are no names associated with the information and there is a lot of guess work involved.

Human farm bug

Patched
This is a bug that allows a human player to build a farm in a very small clearing of trees, and continually build and cancel it. For unknown reasons, the player gains the cost of building a farm, without the original cost being deducted. Essentially, this bug can generate endless amounts of resources for a human player. Blizzard is aware of this bug, and it will be fixed in the 1.03 patch.

Disconnect Hack

Battle.Net records the wins and loss of every game in Warcraft 3. Hackers take advantage of this fact and use a disconnect hack to disconnect from the server legally (within the rules set by Battle.Net and Warcraft 3) without having Battle.Net record the loss. More specifically, the disconnect hack locks the gold and wood values which forces the game to kick the hacker out without recording the loss. Recently, Blizzard have deleted the accounts of all players using this hack.

Occasionally, an extremely under-used strategy is utilized that really confused newbies. The strategy involves taking sentry wards or shades and walling in the entrance to the enemy base, making an invisible barrier the opponent can't get past. THIS IS NOT A HACK. Sometimes players unaware of this strategy complain about a wall hack. Don't listen to them, it is a perfectly legit strategy, if anything try it out yourself, then tell them to watch the replay.

Packet Sender

Rare
A packet sender is used during a Warcraft 3 game to disconnect the enemy from the game so that a hacker can win a victory.

CD Key Changer

This is not really considered a cheat or a hack. If a player has many family members or bought more copies of the game they may use this utility to switch to their own CD Key or family members. However, cheaters could use it to unban themselves from Battle.Net if they have access to a list of CD Keys.

HP Shower

Shows the HP bar of the units of you / the enemy or both
